OP Blizzard's Adventure Log 41

41. Brothers- Part 6; Aftermath

  We made it back to the ship okay.

  We hoisted the anchors and raised the sails off before we set off.

  Luffy was the one who took the helm and I sat beside him after Chopper patched up my wounds. I was silent the whole way back. He looked down at me and put his hand on my hand, forcing me to look up.

  "I'm sorry, buddy."

  That did it.

  I suddenly broke out in tears and I started to sob.

  Why? Why, for the love of God, did Ken and I have to be on opposites sides of the law?! It's not fair, damn it!

  As I kept sobbing, I felt Luffy wrap his arms tight around me, refusing to let go for anything. I soon heard the sound of squeaking footprints and felt a pair of tiny hooves grab me from behind. Before I knew it, everybody was all around me, hugging me, telling me how sorry they were for me.

  "But at least you still have your other brothers and sisters," Chopper says to me.

  "And what's more, buddy," Luffy says, "you still have us, too. Remember, we're your family, now."

  I smiled at them. I may not have Ken as my brother, anymore…but at least I have Luffy and the others. I still have my other siblings, too.

  These guys are my family, now…and I'll protect them no matter what.
