One Piece Prompts: Sounds

 It's after lunch. Sanji made some nice angel hair pasta with shrimp and tomato sauce, as well as a side of garlic bread. Blizzard yawned as he lied down on the lawn deck, feeling that usual laziness that dogs normally do, and even as he drifts off into slumber under the afternoon sun, the wolf-dog can still make out traces of several sounds going about on the ship. Being a dog, you can't help but pick up most sounds with sensitive ears, especially big, pointy ears like Blizzard's.

 The ship creaks as the waves gently rock her up and down. Then there's the splash of said-waves as they lap against the hull. The seagulls squawk as they soar over the salty spray. The flags flap in the wind, bearing the mark of the crew's conviction and dreams.

 It's not just the sounds of the sea that relax Blizzard, though. It's the other noises that he's mostly tuned in to. The sounds that he feels truly makes the Sunny his home.

 He can pick up even what most people would think the most indistinct of conversations, like Sanji asking Nami if he can borrow for a dessert he's making after dinner, tonight. He can hear the sounds of Zoro, lifting his barbells while Robin sits in the library, and he can ever hear the soft sipping she makes as she drinks her coffee. He hears the sound of Chopper, all the way in the sick bay, grinding up herbs for his medicine. He hears the sound of Franky, hammering away at some metal, possibly for a new weapon project.

 He can hear Carrot, all the way up in the Crow's Nest, calling out to the other crew members that there were clear skies and no danger in sight. He hears the sound of Aika, playfully running around on the deck in her wolf form with Kumi chasing after her, the sounds of their paws pattering against the grass. He can hear Jimbei, softly humming along to the tune of Brook's violin as he stands at the helm, steering the Sunny along. He hears Usopp's nonstop chatter about catching something huge for dinner as he sits on the railing with Luffy, which, of course, prompts the captain's stomach to start growling impatiently for food, even though he had just eaten at least 3 times as much of the pasta during lunch.

 And all Blizzard does as he slumbers away on the grass...is lightly wag his tail, which softly thumps against the lawn.
